Snowboards

Do you make custom boards or sizes?

No, we currently do not offer custom graphics or sizes due to the complexity, long lead time, and expensive price of setup tools.

How can I easily compare your boards?

We have been working hard to create a feature that you can easily compare any boards in our line. It makes it that much easier to take home the perfect gear for you!
Look for this little icon (Compare Tool Cart) on the top right to get started
Compare tool
Once you find a board that you would like to compare, hit the
Compare button
button under the "Board Personality" on each of the product pages. This will add it to your Compare "cart". Once you are ready to compare tech and specs, hit the Compare Tool Icon again and get started.
If you have any further questions regarding comparisons, or want to get a professional opinion, contact our Customer Service Reps HERE.

How do I choose the color of the base?

There is no rhyme or reason for which board has what base, we cannot fulfill base color requests or exchange a product for a different base color. If the base color is make or break on deciding whether to order, it's best to try and find the exact base color you are after at one of our authorized dealers.

You can find our authorized Jones dealers here.

How do I maintain the 3D Contour Base/Speed Channel?

Depending on the board model, 3D Contour Bases are contoured up 1-9 mm in the nose and tail. The rounded surfaces of the 3D Contour Bases are designed to be smooth like the rest of the base so they should be maintained if rough or damaged. You can grind 3D Contour based boards on standard grinding machines but you must grind the spoon surfaces by hand, not using the feed wheel. With the feed wheel lifted, grind the spoon sections by “rolling” the nose and tail side-to-side while passing the board back and forward on the belt.

The same “rolling” technique should be used for grinding the ‘Wings’ on the tail of the Hovercraft, Ultracraft and Storm Chaser. The Speed Channel on the Hovercraft/Ultracraft and Storm Chaser does not require tuning.

All 3D Contour Base surfaces should be waxed for best performance.

Is my board "shred ready" when I buy it?

All Jones snowboards and splitboards are ready to ride straight out of the package. All boards are tuned and factory-waxed, so that you can get right down to business as soon as you leave the shop.

Should I de-tune the tip and tail edges?
Jones boards come lightly de-tuned from the factory. It is not mandatory to de-tune your board more, but if you feel the tip or tail of the board is still catchy, you may de-tune further using sand paper or a file.

For questions about de-tuning, contact your local Jones dealer here.

What is a Blem board?

Every single one of our snowboards and splitboards are carefully handmade - over 120 humans are involved in the process.
However, some of our technologies, features and high-end precision processes demand major attention and occasionally a cosmetic blemish can occur in production. Cosmetic blemishes include minor pits, bumps, dimples, die-cut blems, scratches, an edge-to-base gap or a misprinted graphic.
If the cosmetic blemish respects our tight manufacturing tolerances in all other ways, and does not affect performance in any manner, we call it « Blem Board » and it is sold at a discounted rate.
Of course, Blem boards have premium performance, and meet all our technical specs & manufacturing standards. They are covered by our standard warranty and have never been ridden.
What happens to products that do not respect our blem or performance tolerances?
The absolute goal here is to reduce waste as much as possible and avoid putting usable products in the trash. The vast majority of our products which don't ride as well as we need them to, or have significant cosmetic imperfections don't become Blems. We recycle them into skateboards via our longtime relationship with NoK boards. Learn more about the process here.
If the imperfection is so big that it won't make it to NoK, we'll recycle the board in situ and reuse whatever components we can.

What is my board made of?

Balancing the qualities of performance, durability and sustainability is one of the most difficult aspects of snowboard design. While we strive to use as many sustainable materials as possible, we trust our lives to these boards so we must value performance and durability equally as much.
To choose our materials we then carefully consider all three of these qualities with the goal of producing the most sustainable products possible without sacrificing performance.
This ECO-Performance design philosophy is the foundation upon which everything we make is made including our apparel and backpack lines.
The raw materials in our 2018 collection are the most sustainable we’ve ever used. Aside from our wood veneer and carbon topsheets, all of our boards now feature eco-plastic topsheets made from castor beans. All topsheet graphics are sublimated with water based inks and all of our boards also feature recycled ABS sidewalls, recycled steel edges and Wend Natural Wax.

What is my board’s factory edge angle?

All Jones boards come with a 0 and 90 degree factory edge angle. You may adjust the edge angle to tune the board to your riding style or local conditions.
Maintaining your edges is crucial for maximum performance. Tune magne-traction edges using the same technique and tools as standard edges, just use a little less pressure.
Jones dealers and professional ski/board tuning shops will offer the best tuning services. Find your local dealer here.
